1925 Men's Fashion

In the 1920’s sacque suites were popular in the mid eighteen-hundreds that became a consistent appropriate day dress for gentlemen. Edwardian Etiquette made a dramatic change in men’s everyday fashion in the 1920’s.  Which were with suites, colored shirts of putty, peach, grey, and cedar were worn. Also with silk shaped ties with small geometric patterns or stripes that were secured by a tie pen. To complete the fit, they wore a black bowler hat.
To make your outfit into a formal one than a day use one they would wear a tail coat with a top hat. With a white shirt and a pelted yokes accepted with the tail coat. Other’s would wear a bow tie and white wing collars.  Tuxedos were increasingly getting popular, but were not completely finished. Also black paten-leather shoes were a very popular essential to your evening wear. Casual clothing worn two-tone shoes like white and tan, or white and black. Laced-up style shoes were on demand for men to wear.
Knickerbockers also known as “knickers” were popular for the casual wear for the well-dressed gentlemen. There were so many types of style kickers out there like the plus-fours, plus-sixes, plus- eights, and plus- tens. The “plus” term was to determine how many inches below the knees they hung. Norfolk coats and golf coats were also worn with knickers. The coats had a sporty large patch pocket, a belt, also one button and often a shoulder yoke. Gentlemen wore shoes or maybe boots to accommodate the proper footwear to coordinate with knickers.
