The 90’s was a shifting changing in the western world that
started to adopt the look of tattoos, body piercing, and other forms of body
modifications such as branding. Still in the 1990’s there still was bold
geometric prints on clothing in electric blue, orange, fluorescent pink,
purple, turquoise, and acid green became popular from rappers like Lisa Lopes.
In the US and other countries like South Africa and China had topical patterns
such as triangles, lightning bolts, diamonds, rectangles, overlapping freeform
shapes, simulated explosions that were inspired from comic books or pop art.
There
was another type of fashion that broke out called grunge for both men and
women. Consists with flannel shirts, ripped jeans, combat boots, brand shirts,
over sized sweaters, co- friendly clothing’s made from recycled textiles or
fair organic cotton. If you want to see a prominent example of Grunge fashion
look up a teen television drama show called “My so called life.”
Men would wear windbreakers, overalls, leather
jackets, baggie pants, and jump suites. Like the windbreakers would be in
colorful bright colors such as turquoise, pink, yellow, green, orange and so
much more colors. With the overalls some men would wear it with one strap down
like Will Smith in the TV show called “Fresh Price of Bell Air.”
